Shooting at the playground.
AsianWeek had one of the few well-written articles covering the shooting. Most of the press coverage was quick to write this incident off as "gang violence," when the facts seemed to tell a different story.

Fortunately, I was running late (suddenly, MUNI seems like a good thing), and arrived shortly after the shooting. The people in the playground during the shooting were severely shaken by the events, and the playground seemed all the more eerie in the weeks after the shooting.

It seems remarkable that it did not receive the press coverage other shootings have received. Instead it was dismissed and hardly mentioned in local or national media.
